Well, I don't live in the US, so I don't know much about it.
Reading a bit I think the Jury made the correct verdict as she was not guilty "beyond all reasonable doubt". The evidence was very murky, too murky for sentence. She could easily have been innocent. Though it is a very strange case, there's nothing to absolutely prove she did anything.
