========== Back at the Yokosuka District Force ==========
The radar beeps alert tones as the three unknowns come into their radar net.
“Skipper, targets on the port side.” The radar operator notifies the ship captain next to him.
“Where exactly?”
“Seven o’clock, high. Cruising.”
The captain heads over to the radar panel and notices the unknowns shifting their directions towards their position.
“Hostiles…” He walks to the helm and grabs the handheld announcement microphone.
“All hands, we have three hostile unknowns heading directly for our positions. Man battlestations. I repeat, man battlestations!”
“Aye aye, skipper!” Says the bridge crews, acknowledging his order.
“Relay the order to the other ships.” He instructs the signal crew, who then nods and quickly heads over for the cylindrical light signaler.
He quickly flips the signaler’s shutters in and out, projecting a series of light signals akin to that of a Morse code to the other destroyers.
“Three minutes till contact, skipper.”
“Defenses up, skipper!” Says a bridge crew personnel as another one brings out his binoculars to look at the oncoming unknowns, which then turn out to be Praxidike drones.
“What are those…?” He lowers the binoculars in disbelief and looks through them again.
“What are we up against?” Asks the captain as he steps out of the bridge.
“I-I don’t know, skipper. They seem humanoid…”
“What?”
The crew hands over his binoculars to the captain who then looks up at the drones, noticing panel on their forearms purging to reveal concealed micro-missiles.
The captain brashly pushes the binoculars to the crew’s chest and briskly walks back into the bridge.
“Right full rudder!” He commands with desperation.
“Right full rudder, aye!” The helmsman replies and spins the steering wheel right with great effort.
