i can definitely feel the difference going from a samsung 24" TN LED to a asus 23" e-IPS LED. the colors are a bit more vibrant and seemingly more accurate on the asus monitor (as it should since the factory calibrates it for their PA monitors). now on to the main issue of the backlight bleeding... yes it is true asus has a very well known problem with maintaining QC on this monitor for some unknown reason to consumers. fortunately the unit i received wasn't all that bad. but it is nothing compared to the horrible backlight bleeding images i've seen other consumers post on other forums.

i would have opted for the dell u2412M you have but came across this as it was much cheaper and has less input lag compared to dells ultrasharp IPS monitors. maybe if only amazon had it because of the recycling fee and tax dell charges from their site.
