Seriously, though, I don't know who'd be volunteering to colonize Mars. It's like the European pioneers all over again, except this time with extreme science/logistics to deal with (vastly more so, anyways... not to suggest the European explorers did not include intelligent individuals among them, but this is a whole new ballgame)... do such individuals exist in today's world, comprising the adventurous nature to venture to a completely alien climate, with the intelligence to make the project work? Not many people are looking to colonize Antarctica, and I'd assume bio-forming a habitable community there would be easier than on Mars.
