I do think non-ero VNs have something to offer to anyone who wants a good story (provided the given VN is good), so it's a matter of reaching out to the intended audience. I think anime fans would be top of that list; I myself find them a refreshing alternative to just watching something. And when you're given a choice to make in the story, you care that much more because you're making that choice.
