Since the egg memory returned, I assume that we will gradually inch towards a more complete recovery as the series progresses. Shogo's theory of some kind of trauma seems like super-direct foreshadowing. It's possible that as her memories return, we'll be confronted with the source of the trauma, and overcoming it will be the make or break moment.
