Are we watching the same show? No matter how you look at it Makio and Yotaro are being shipped together. Even more so on the ending cards. Also he didn't freak out when he saw her naked. He
blushed. Age does not matter one bit in anime, so I'm not sure why you are pointing that out, especially in this kind of show that is very much going against all logics in many instances
