in any case, the book is out, with it also the test read chapter 1 on the official website, there are pictures/description of the new characters and an enlarge map with new landmass revealed.

pretty much an action pack chapter with few if none of the explanation, JMSDF Kitashio is submerging in order to penetrate monsters and pirates infested territory with the goal to rescue the American reporter, encounter an "armor whale" sea creature and sunk it with 2 torpedos, then take in a local supporter through the torpedo tube-- she being a mermaid. that is it, no explanation of how a sub made its way to the other side, or why the sub is being chosen instead of a ship, those probably will be revealed in later chapters.
