I know it is said in a joking manner, but it can also be considered quite rude.

There's also the point where people tend to jump straight into the (as some may consider lazily) 'asking' part (there's also the factor of how rule breaky is may be) & not even bothering or trying w/ the 'self searching' part. (i.e. can be found via google in less than a minute)
