Here’s what happens later in the LN.

Spoiler for Vol 4-7 spoilers:

Ai becomes famous after becoming one of the two youngest female professionals in history at the age of 10. She along with Ai #2 and Keika participate in the MyNavi Female Open tournament. Ai defeats Ika Sainokami (a female title holder) and then passes the qualifiers in Vol 4. However, Ai loses in the first round of the main tournament in Vol 5 against Ryou Tsukiyomizaka (a female title holder who Ginko defeated easily in Vol 2) partly due to Ai’s shogi being off. Ai also reaches Kenshuukai C1 rank in the same volume and because she had passed the qualifiers of the tournament she automatically gains female professional status with Female 2nd Kyuu rank as of Vol 6.

Ten-chan (Ai #2) who is almost 2 months younger than Ai also becomes famous after becoming the youngest female professional in history and is even called “Kobe’s Cinderella”. After passing the MyNavi tournament’s qualifiers and reaching Kenshuukai C1 rank, she gains female professional status with Female 2nd Kyuu rank as of Vol 6. Ten-chan then gets promoted to Female 1st Kyuu rank as of Vol 7 when she reaches the semifinal (this is probably a mistake by the author because she should be Female 1st Dan at this point). In Vol 7, she plays against Ryou in the semi-final and wins (Ten-chan’s rank should be Female 1st Dan after this but it’s not stated). Now she’s considered one of the high-ranking female professionals and she will play against Machi Kugui (a female title holder) in the final match. If she wins she will get promoted straight to Female 2nd Dan rank and earns the right to challenge Ginko for the ‘Queen’ title.

Keika doesn’t reach Kenshuukai C1 rank, but passes the qualifiers of the MyNavi tournament in Vol 4. In Vol 5, she defeats Rina Shakando (a female title holder who is a veteran female 6th Dan and Ayumu's master) in the first round of the main tournament. She reaches the Top 8 after defeating Rina which earns her provisional female professional status with Female 3rd Kyuu rank.

Ginko plays against a boy named Souta in Vol 6 and it is a very important battle in the shogi world. If Souta who is 11 years old wins he would be the youngest ever to earn apprentice professional 3rd Dan rank. Sora eventually wins and becomes the first female ever to earn apprentice professional 3rd Dan rank in the LN’s story. She will be participating in the 3rd Dan League and if she wins first or second place then she will be promoted to 4th Dan rank and gain professional status.

Yaichi has Ryuo title challenge matches in Vol 5 in order to defend his title. His opponent is a Meijin, and Yaichi’s frustration from losing some of the matches affects Ai’s performance in Vol 5. Yaichi eventually reconciles with Ai and they have a ceremony where they exchange vows of master and disciple with both families there, which looks like a marriage ceremony. Yaichi’s engagement with Ai and them living together makes national news. Yaichi eventually defends his title at the end of the volume.

Hopefully Ai participates in another tournament soon in order for her rank to catch up to Ten-chan's fast.

Ohh boy. Does Ai #2 have any chance of winning the Yaichibowl or is that pretty much already insured for Ai #1?
