Gojira 1954 is actually more about the
H-Bomb Testing in Bikini Atoll and the incident involving the crew of a fishing ship called
Daigo Fukuryuu Maru (
Lucky Dragon number 5, ironic name). The rest of it are callbacks to Hiroshima-Nagasaki incidents and the US aerial attacks toward Japan before the A-Bombs were dropped.

I don't think it's wise to show Kong in this movie outside of a stinger or post/mid-credit sequence. Why? Because they're gonna have a follow-up movie in which the entire premise is having Godzilla & Kong on screen together for the first time in Hollywood (Toho movie not counted).
