Overall thoughts for Deca-dence Ep1:
It has a good start, though it is quite a bit generic, from the cliche dad who dies to the lead MC who wants to make a difference and stop the war only to be told she can't because she's too weak, etc. We have the grizzled vet who seems to have given up on his dreams because of "life" and whatever, and we have our post-apocalyptic setting where humanity has been pushed to the brink because of mutant monsters or whatever. Nothing we haven't seen before.

The idea that there are only two classes you can be in, either worker or soldier is not new either, but it's not seen as often in this type, so that's fair. However, then the series decides to dig deep into its mecha roots (even though honestly it hasn't shown a trace of that until now) and do a whole transformation sequence complete with Jpop song, to get a rocket boost punch to the raging kaiju. (Sure got SSSS Gridman in here super quick ) and then the end gives up...walking talking video game emojis ?! Who are some secret society of some kind???

I'm honestly not sure WHAT that was. It feels like it's not even the same anime as the rest of the show.

Altogether it was okay, the animation was nice, the story so far is pretty cliche as far as things go, but there might be hints of more? So, I'll keep watching for now.
