Just from these episodes alone it's pretty clear that he cared about Frieren a lot and wanted her to open up more or be "in" with the group (or him).
The implications of wanting her to see the flower of his homeland is also pretty significant. And that he wanted to see up her skirt, although I guess that could just be a guy being a guy
