When Ibara was first introduced in the first half of this season I sensed that senile, old man had keen observation skills to discern the tiniest odd details that feel out of place.

This episode proved Ibara's frightening observation skills and anticipating moves ahead from the Kingdom of Science.

It felt odd to him observing Moz wearing the same earrings as Kohaku-chan did, particularly since she was ratted out to be infiltrator. Unfortunately for the Kingdom of Science, after had Kohaku's statue retrieved he picked-up her earring and found about the transmitter hearing our heroes conversation with Moz unknowing to them.

And, the rest became story advising Kirisame before his force went to the Howling Hill to watch out for Moz and switching the petrification device with a fake.

Furthermore, if the Science Kingdom split forces and went ahead to retrieve the Master's statue he shattered it before leaving for the Perseus in order to conceal the secret while having trapped the intruders in the island to use the petrification beam from the boat at a safe distance.

What the old, pervert, bastard did not account for is that the Science Kingdom has Deku and science and are putting their fath to go on a brawl out at the ship, because Magmas' shenanigans for him to be first to dispose of Ibara.
