mahito was dangerous because he changed the shape of the soul, so even if you reverse cursed technique your body just come back to the shape Mahito changed it into. If Yuji strikes someone even if he can hit the soul that can be healed anyway with reverse cursed technique because the shape is still the same, so it's literally pointless against somebody who is not mahito.
