You say that but Bandai also never capitalize on WFM's incredible success (in terms of making more anime of it) as we speak right now. That's a
lot of money they left on the table. Instead, they're pursuing the
Gundam Metaverse project that cost a hundred+ millions of dollars that
nobody asked for.
So yeah, Bandai's decision can be a real mystery sometimes.
