The girls are definitely sexier with their evolution but I kinda wish author gave Gobumi a design more reminiscent of her hobgoblin form while keeping the longer hair.

I think that she told him, but there is really nothing he could have done. It's the same as with the elite team that the elves "consider dead" despite being pretty sure they know where they are and that the dark elves aren't so dark. Rou isn't their subordinate and had no duty to help them, so his saving the princess and delivering her back is more than they could ask for. Blaming him for the deaths would just destroy any chance of him helping against the humans and could even turn him against the elves.
