Yes. It was the Scarlet Twins who killed them. Those two are extremely broken and will easily rip apart their human targets. When they were introduced to the Argos flight, I am certain that it was revealed that they are espers. With that revelation, its already obvious why they're effective against people.

I applaud Yui for being able to fight those two just by herself and came close to winning. Satellite did a poor job in showing off her skills even if she was just holding back in episode five. That girl is really good at parrying.
