I am, thats why I added all that extra information. I didn't say her perspective wasn't understandable, just that it was wrong.
EDIT: Well @GMC, I guess I'm a liar. I think I'll do a summary of the first web novel. Doubt I can take much more than that, but we'll see. Here is a summary of the prologue and first 3 chapters.
Spoiler for 0-3:
Alright, I've never done a summary before, but this should cover the main points. Keep in mind i'm working from a GT and there might be errors. It will be Rudy's POV unless stated otherwise.
Prologue-It starts with the MC giving a basis of how his life sucks. He has been tricked by his brother into getting kicked out of his house, with no prospects and no support. He is angry at the world and most of all himself at his failure to make anything his life. All of a sudden he sees a group of teens about to be run over. He manages to push them out of the way but gets hit himself. Presumably he dies here.
1st chapter-He wakes up in what he assumes is a hospital with strangers leaning over him. There is a quick bit where he wonders who would pay his hospital bills with all the injuries he is sure to have sustained. Just to give you an idea of his past life he thinks his family would skimp on his hospital bills and even funeral ones. No idea if this is true but it gives an idea of his perspective. His assumption is quickly overturned when he looks at his own body. A month passes before he can swallow the truth. He has apparently been reborn as a child. He has a monologue about how everyone has had that delusion before, but it appears he is living the reality. There is a quick introduction to the household, two people he assumes are his parents and a maid(see LN cover for an idea of what they look like). They don't look Japanese and speak a foreign language, so he assumes he has been reborn in a different country. He doesn't find any electronics or appliances so he assumes it is a poor one. That clashes with having a maid, but he can't find any other explanation. 6 months pass and he can finally understand the language. He muses about the child brain helping him learn faster. No idea if this is true, as Rudy is pretty damn smart on his own as you'll find out later. His parents are worried because he doesn't cry. He has explored the house and seen from the windows that it is in the countryside. One day, he sees his father practicing the sword in the garden, he falls off the chair he was using in shock. His mother rushes over and he gets his second shock. She chants a healing spell and heals the scratch he got. After an explanation he is forced to accept that he is on a fantasy world with warriors, monks, wizards, ect. The dad rushes over and after a talk they head off to make Rudy little brothers and sisters. A little introspection is done by Rudy, and he decides to do his best in this world so as to not have any regrets.
2nd chapter-This is all from Rirya's perspective. Not gonna get too into it, but it details about how she is seriously freaked out by little Rudy. He doesn't cry and she can swear he is leering at her like one of her former employers. He also wanders around muttering gibberish(Japanese). She seriously starts to believe he is possessed or cursed. She even buys an amulet to ward off such things(she is more than a bit superstitious). Also a bit of bio. She used to be a maid guard, but she was fired when she lost combat skill from taking a poisoned dagger in an assassination attempt. She doesn't hate them for firing her, but she had a hard time finding another job. Eventually she found one in a former fellow-apprentice(Paul), but she is starting to seriously regret it. The amulet doesn't help obviously, and it's been a year. Rudy has practically barricaded himself in the study looking at Paul's books. She sees him laughing and studying with such seriousness that her disgust and fear gradually eases. She also starts to see signs of serious intelligence from him.
3rd chapter-Rudy has become able to walk and speak on his own. He wonders what he should do first now that he has decided to live seriously. He can study, exercise, and acquire skills. He finds exercise would be too difficult with his current body, so he decides to study. He thinks of the literacy rate of Japan, and decides that learning the written language should be first. He learns that there are only 5 books in the study(printing isn't available, so books are expensive), but its enough. The grammar isn't much different than Japanese, even though the characters are different. So he learns quickly. Some time passes, and its revealed what the 5 books are. The first is a general description of the world. The second is a book about ecology and monsters. The third is a beginner textbook on magic. The fourth is a fairy tale about Perugiusu(not sure on the name). The fifth is a swashbuckler type story about dungeon crawling. He finds the last 2 interesting, but decides to focus on the first 3(starting with the magic one). Just to reiterate Amatsunagi's post, ill give some general info about the magic in the story. There are 3 types of magic; Attack magic, Healing magic, and Summoning magic. There are two ways to use it; by using magic in the body directly, and by using magic by drawing from a material imbued with it. The first would be a generator, and the second a battery. There are also two ways to cast; speech and by drawing circles. Circles seem to have been popular long ago, but chanting is mainstream in the current timeline. The exception would be summoning magic, as it practically requires a circle because of the precision involved. The book says that magic power(MP) is determined from birth and that it doesn't increase. This is bullshit, but we'll get to that. He figures that since Zenith(his mother) is a mage, his chances are good of having decent MP. Since there is nothing to write with he decides to start with learning incantations. He finds the chant for water bullet, and manages to cast it, but it falls apart immediately from lack of concentration. He finds the feeling to be like blood pouring out, and tries to replicate it with an image training. To his surprise water starts pooling in his hand even without the chant. He drops the spell again from surprise. He thinks about it, and determines that its like the difference between an automatic and manual car. Also, that the preconception from the current schools that "the chant is essential" keeps them from doing what he just did. He thinks about the advantages of doing it without the chant, and starts to get a small ego trip from his talent. He snaps out of it quickly when thinking of his own experiences, and reminds himself that he is a beginner and needs practice. All of a sudden he starts to feel fatigue. He wonders if its from mental fatigue and quickly dismisses it. Evidently he stayed up for 6 days before on his computer. He determines that he must be out of MP, and starts worrying since he can only cast 2 water bullets. Efficiency can rise with practice, but MP is supposed to be an absolute limit. He can't accept it, so he goes for a third try and faints. He wakes up later to a scolding. Evidently his mother thought he wet himself. The next day he tries again and casts it four times before getting tired on the fifth. The day after, six. He starts to wonder if his MP increased or if its the difference in skill. The day after that, he cast it eleven times. It keeps increasing and he decides that it has something to do with the talent of children, and that the "absolute limit" is false. Then again, how often would a child learn magic? He has a unique opportunity, and decides to make the most of it. Another recap. Magicians are divided into seven stages of learning; Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Saint-class, King-class, Emperor-class, and finally God-class. Your rank is determined by spells learned, not their power. Most magicians only reach advanced on their best system. Rudy decides to learn all the beginner magic in the book, with an emphasis on water. Beginner water magic includes Water Ball, Water Shield, Water Arrow, Ice Smash, and Ice Blade. He doesn't find any info about modifying the spells, so he decides to experiment. He manages to make his water ball bigger, but he runs into a problem. He can't "shoot" the ball. It takes two months of trial and error before he figures out how to fiddle with the settings of the spell. This ties back into the manual-automatic comparison. With the chant it would've been unnecessary to add all the factors. In exchange, Rudy has much more control and speed with his spells. He can modify a spell to go way beyond its intended effects, and even invent new ones. He decides to focus on the little things and raising his total MP.
