I agree. I think the greatest weakness of the second season was that the plot really needed to be focused on Kirino and Kyosuke, but their development felt somewhat rushed because time was repeatedly set aside instead to provide service to fans of other characters.

The Love Touch episode was funny, but mostly pointless, and was added purely for the benefit of Ayase fans. As much as I like Kanako, nearly all of her scenes in the second season were also irrelevant to the story, particularly her completely out of place confession during the finale.

Alas, plot doesn't sell Blu-Rays. Fan service, sight gags, and moe moments sell Blu-Rays.
