I think it's because in the beginning, it felt like Shinka had '
power' over Yuuta- what with his crush on her as well as the overwhelming shock of her true nature, and she has a certain intimidating aura that the other girls don't have, making her seem less likely to be tsukkomi'd by him.
So it's a relief to see that Yuuta isn't backing out despite all of the above. Otherwise it would just make him a bully
Funny how something so simple can evoke so many feelings
Another good thing is we get to see Yuuta with both girls in his arms
(the scene where they were laughing a second time)
