I have to agree that I feel that unless anime as a medium changes considerably, I don't think I will abandon it regardless of age. I'm not sure about other people's reasons, but my reasons are very personal. I am not a hardcore fan like some people here. I only watch one series at a time, and have rarely followed a series that's currently ongoing (except for Honey & Clover, and Naruto). I am simply interested in anime as a different way of telling a story in a different culture, etc, and stuff like that. I don't consider myself to be that immersed in the otaku culture or whatnot. I suppose this makes it easier for me to say that I won't lose interest in it. I can see why some people who base a significant portion of their lives in this anime fandom might lose interest eventually. For me, I won't lose interest in anime, just like I don't lose interest in good films, or music, and etc.
