Oh she has a prominent role, her brother is sided with the main antagonist. But I still agree with you, though the two rival characters usually get special treatment. It happened in adventure as well, it's just they had a lot more characters getting shafted that it wasn't that big of a deal. Kinda odd they didn't give Nene something since she's going to be moot when both shoutmon and greymon evolve.
