^Well, to be fair, 2012 has been a very good year for new Jump manga.
They managed to get a mega-hit with AC, and HQ and Saiki quickly rose to be steady hits.
Having 10 or so canceled series is normal for Weekly Shounen Jump, it's always been that way for decades.
That being said, I hope Soma does well. It's a fun read, and I actually was sad when the 2nd chapter ended in a cliffhanger, because I wanted to see the inevitable reaction.
