The tutorial is to get you into the MOBA genre, try the co-op mode to get into LoL for what it really is. Just play at beginner level until you're confident enough though, I've lost 17 games and pulled through some stupidly long 2v5 against A.I., because the people who dive into intermediate tend to enrage others, resulting in lots of leaves and trolling.
Of course, PvP is the highlight of the game and is mostly entertaining, with everyone winning and losing some, provided you don't encounter many smurfs
As for me, still on the dominion rush, normal games seem so slow now
