Spoiler for chart news:
Chart News: Here are this week's top 30 anison entries, several of which are theme songs for new winter anime series, eagerly awaiting for more of them in the coming weeks:
#4 "Be As One" by w-inds. (FAIRY TAIL ED #6), 31,209 copies sold.
"A nice song, from this 3-member pop group, which has a melancholy tone which perfectly fits with the great anime ED sequence which also acts as a mini-story."
#7 "Platinum Lover's Day" by Yukari Tamura, 17,949 copies. A non-anime work by the well-known seiyuu although used as the OP of the TV program to promote anime theme songs, "Anison Plus".
#8 "Houkago Overflow" by Ranka Lee=Megumi Nakajima (Macross F ~Sayonara no Tsubasa~ ED), 14,493 copies sold.
"I like this song from Megumi compared to her previous Macross songs except one. Things are definitely looking up for this cute Japanese-Filipino seiyuu."
#9 "If" by French Kiss (Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu OVA OP), 14,392 copies sold. The only anison holdover from last week. Not surprising since there were 20 new entries in the Top 30!
#12 "Mayonaka no Orchestra" by Aqua Timez (Naruto Shippuuden ED #16), 11,933 copies sold.
"Decent song but I expected more than decent from the guys who gave us great BLEACH tunes and that Brave Story theme song. Spicing things up in the video is a (apparently) naked Sakura."
#17 "STRAIGHT JET" by Minami Kuribayashi (IS OP), 7,076 copies sold.
"Good song by Minami, worth the listen. It's way better than her last song, from Katanagatari, last year."
#25 "Daydream Syndrome" by Marina Fujiwara (Yumekui Merry OP), 4,235 copies sold.
"Another great song, the rock beat, the vocals and the OP sequence are great. I hope this song will have a long chart life."
#28 "Taste of Paradise" by Eri Kitamura (Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!! OP), 3,994 copies sold.
"It would have been a passable anison if not for the lyrics. You can't take something seriously when you sing lyrics such as "The virgin's desires will bear heavy fruit", "I only want to see that one thing, someday" [as translated] and "God bless its world" [don't wanna know what's "its" is] .
