This is precisely why I qualified my statement the way I did. I've seen some of ADV's titles where the subtitles for the Japanese track do not precisely match the English dub, which would lead me to believe that the subtitle script was a bit more directly adapted from the original material.
If anything, I guess I've gotten a little more sensitive to that recently ever since I started fansubbing myself. In any event, that's my problem.

In any case, though, this is neither a question nor an answer, so we'd better leave it at that.

*nod* Fair enough.

Spoiler for the ever-infamous "clock scene":
Normally, Nayuki's alarm clock in Yuuichi's room would say, "Asa, asa da yo~! Asagohan tabete, gakkou iku yo~!" (Translation: "It's morning!! Hey, it's morning~! Eat breakfast and go to school~!") which is recorded in Nayuki's voice. If you watch Kanon 2002 (ToeiAni's adaptation), during ep 13, Nayuki records a new message and resets the alarm so that it delivers her message just as Yuuichi's about to step out the door to head to the train station. The message is to the effect of, "Please don't be alarmed when I tell you this. I've always loved you, even after these seven years." This is probably her way of taking her mother's advice, outright telling Yuuichi what's been in her heart all this time rather than letting it sit inside her. Even if the love is one-way, if feelings are never expressed, nobody will know.
However, since I have not played Kanon too much, I don't know how true this is to the original story, so I won't comment on whether Kanon 2006 is more correct or not.
As I write this, a possibility dawned on me as to why we never get to see this scene. At one point in the series, when Yuuchi asks whether it's possible to record a new message, Nayuki says that she's not terribly mechanically-inclined, saying that she only managed to get a few words in. Though this doesn't seem entirely plausible to me since the recording goes from what sounds like a drug-induced expressionless drone in episode 2 to a more chipper delivery characteristic of Nayuki in later episodes. Though it's probably far more likely that someone done mussed up the continuity in post production. ;)
