I guess Itami's logic behind being taken prisoner, was that after making so much headway with this order of Rose Knights, it'd be a major setback to have to have shoot up a dozen or two of them.

Course even though the boss is trying to put the lower ranking rose knights in their place, the rest of the squad is moving in with the assumption they need to rescue Itami. This could get very dangerous or very silly quite quickly.
