Spoiler for re: Raghar:
Yeah.
Frankly, I'm not even surprised, after they were made more distant than how they're supposed to be in ep 18. And apparently they can't even hold hands to provide emotional support to each other as their lives are in grave danger. I wonder why the writers are doing this...
Same with the Maria thing, I'm not even surprised anymore.
1) That whole scene wasn't in the book, well, not in
this form, and 2) lol
lilies. Pure white lilies. But of course. (Those were lilies, right? I'm not good with plants...)
I'm kind of pleasantly surprised that Satoru was allowed to say his lines about how he feels... even if it was a bit "eh?" since half of what he was replying to was missing from the dialogue, but I guess it works better if one doesn't know how the discussion was supposed to go.
Spoiler for Also, just let me get this one thing out, re: Satoru...:
THAT WAS SATORU'S IDEA! THE THING WITH THE BOAT AND THE MIRROR! And it was also supposed to be Satoru who realized what the mutant was doing!
I guess they wanted to make Saki look better and more main chara like after she spent most of the last episode being (very understandably) terrified, but come on! Give poor Satoru his few opportunities to shine! He's a
scientist, not the brawn to Saki's brains!
At least they made a show of him clearing the water, that's supposed to be pretty awesome.
Anyway, aside from the above and the fact that the animation was, again, made in the Land of Very Tight Budgets, it was a pretty cool episode. And the flying scene was pretty beautiful (I guess that's where the budget went
). And the end... waaaah. ;_;
But no Aloha shirt. *phew* THANK YOU, COSTUME DESIGNER! (PS, I want Satoru's shoes.)
