Let me define it for you:

In the monochrome theme, yes we had to use just one color but the process was very straight forward. It was just a do-this kind of thing, where the

In the arrow contest you had to basically know how to make arrow art... yes you could sneak it in but arrows are such a eye-catcher its just really disruptive and annoying unless you specialism in using them. This goes with out saying that the options to create your own arrows isn't exactly simple with tools like photoshop; as I mentioned earlier in the submission thread I really find a lot of examples as being ideally done in Illustrater then imported to Photoshop (since Photoshop tools only makes the process very tedious).
