Picked up the japanese volume 5 of Toradora! at the LA Kinokuniya bookstore the other day, and it reminded me why I liked this series so much. volume 5 covers the "summer beach house trip" the gang takes. Almost everyone gets a set of epiphanies about their situations and underlying feelings, both comedic and dramatic.
The artwork remains fantastic... I really like the transitions between comedic, realistic, and surreal. I'm also collecting the Yen press English version but after having several previous english translations series dropped before finishing (Moon Phase, ARIA) - I've taken to collecting the japanese releases no matter what.
Makes me work on my Japanese language comprehension
