A Mary Sue is a character, usually a character from
fanfiction, who draws an inordinate amount of attention in the plot, (especially if they're not the main character) and is totally and utterly flawless, and is never punished for any kind of negative action, ever.
They're generally uninteresting, terrible characters, and almost always some kind of Author Avatar.
