It is usually attached to names that end in "ri" though. "Amin" is probably just a shortening for convenience, as "Ami-rin" would be kind of difficult to say all the time.
Well, Vexx in his reply said the 'n' is a SLANG honorific - I suppose that it derives from 'normal' rin.
