I like that method personally, to be honest, kinda like what the Anime did before EP4 all went to Hell. As important as the Ange flashbacks are, and in many aspects enjoyable, they drag like crazy, and the shifting viewpoints just made things more confusing for me. It's a little annoying to wait at such a slow pace for the EP4 chapters, but I agree that in the long run it'll be better to get all this Ange stuff over and done with before we move onto the EP4 story proper.
Sidenote, Sakutaro is adorable.
