Kai was pretty good.

The animation was leaps and bounds over the first season. They seemed to put a lot more effort into the character designs and making everything look crisp, making it look prettier in High definition and such. It sort of set the standard for how Umineko would look as an anime in the near future.

That being said, there were some points were background textures looked absolutely dreadful...

A common complaint I hear is that this season lacks all the Yandere rage that made the first one so memorable, but I honestly think that's a good thing. This one strives to be more story oriented. Also it should be kept in mind, there's only so many times I can witness the same 16 year old girls get killed over and over again before I get bored (As cynical as that sounds xD), and as such this season went for less for mindless violence and more of a degree of reasoning and tolerance between the characters.

Overall, this was an awesome series. I really hope they expand this series more in the future.

Spoiler for Bad animation sequences: For instance in a part where Takano and her driver were going through a forest and the trees looked as though they had been drawn by a second grader. Although that can probably slide since the first season suffered from the exact same thing. Spoiler for Last two arcs: The ending was good, but it seemed like it took too long to get there. The arc that takes places before the final one where the children die trying to save Rika from Takano was a little unnecessary IMO. They could have easily implemented everything from that arc into the next one (excluding the deaths). Spoiler for Ending?: I was rather happy to see Shion see Satoshi again towards the end. It gives you the hope that soon enough the characters will be able to lead a prosperous, peaceful future. Spoiler for Umineko: That is until Beatrice comes and ruins everybody's existence again Overall, this was an awesome series. I really hope they expand this series more in the future.
