This episode turned out very well. Could they have done better? Yes. Did they nail enough of it to make it work? Definitely.
As for pacing, I think they handled it as well as they could. Unlike EP1, they were able to stick in what they needed to without making things feel rushed, and only fully eliminating one scene I was sad to see go. I'm a bit worried about ep11, but we'll get there when we get there.
