Well its not expressed in the english translations, but gramps used honorifics when talking to shioon.
Something one wouldnt do to someone whose not even half your age + your about to kill.
If you also recall there was a chapter when Jeon was training shioon, and used honorifics. Shioon felt awkward and told Jeon not to use them, but Jeon said he was the clan head therefore it was customary.
Once again, its very difficult to express asian honorifics in english translations, and reading the raw, he uses all the honorifics.
Lastly, him saying he didnt want to see another head sacrifice themselves, i think denoted that he did accept shioon as the clan head.
Then again this is kwon... who knows what goes on in his head...
