It won't work. HEAT rounds attack on an almost molecular level by drilling through armor with a jet of hot metal. With just spaced layers of aerogel, it wouldn't work because of the pure-element structure of carbon. Sure it insulates by dispersing heat actively, but it doesn't disperse the intense pressure caused by the huge amount of force on a incredibly small area.
Unless you are planning to electrify the graphene plate and use it as piezoelectric armor, then the heat dispersion is useful for helping to disperse the heat energy caused by the transfer of kinetic energy at the point of impact throughout the tank.
