About the Dragonica combo system: the most vital point in a mission is evading hits, and the items you get are usually available from a chaos or hidden map, so the slots don't play a big part in the game.
I've been playing maplestory for about 2 years now, I'd say Dragonica is more anime-like and the feeling of grinding is not as dominant... (27.5mil exp to LV119, you get around 3k per kill).
All MMOs are fun to play as long as you got friends
