- The first few chapters feel draggy, but when we are shown Suimei's (MC) secret antics it gets pretty good. His antics are shown through other character's perspectives.
- During the first audience with the King, it was reveladed that there is no way back to Earth.
- The summoning spell is pretty ancient, and most magician don't truly get it (is hinted that in the court and the magic guild, no one could understand it's basis). Suimei decripted it with ease.
- The place were the details about the summoning were kept, was a secret vault type of place that only 3 people knew how to unlock (2 of them were Felmenia (court mage) and the King, who were arguing this issue). Naturally Suimei was going in and out as he pleased.
- The court magician reported what Suimei's secret to the king, realized that Suimei was just acting on the wish of "returning home", so asked to leave him alone.
- Felmenia chased Suimei annoyed at his antics; thought of him as "disrespectful", she first realized that he could use magic on the very same room where they were summoned (Suimei was thinking of deploying a barrier just in case, when the kingdom guys entered he cancelled the process and only Felmenia noticed the subtlety of his magic). This puts things in perspective, specially if one checks all of the conversations between Felmenia and Suimei from the start, realizing that she already knows that he is a "magic user".
- Suimei lured Felmenia to a garden, and he had a bunch of things prepared beforehand. The first part of the "duel" is narrated through Felmenia's perspective with Suimei setting up his means of attacking. He completely fends off her offensive and she can't get anything that he is doing.
Felmenia (monologue) : "
He is, surely, even stronger than me".
Felmenia (monologue) : "
He is, surely, even stronger than the old magic user who trained me".
Felmenia (monologue) : "
He is, surely, even stronger than the Yuusha Reiji-sama".
Felmenia (monologue) : "
He is, perhaps, even compared to the Maoh who now treatens the world, surely even more-----".
Felmenia (monologue) : * Cue to panic attack *
Speaking of, Suimei got pretty annoyed at Felmenia's ignorance in the ways of magic, he even blurted things like "with magic like that, this world finished" or things like "I won't recognize you as a student of the occult"
He even called her magic a "simple flame thrower"
- The second part of the duel, is narrated by Suimei; here is explained how he was doing what he does while he goes into the offensive. He finished the duel by using a
Meteo like spell as a threat. "..... you should try putting a barrier now" (Suimei)
Felmenia : "
You bloody monster, what was that about not doing anything risky because you can't fight!?"
- At first she was defiant / haughty, but when she realized that the jig was up, she went into
dogeza stance on her own, pleading for her life. "
Oh, but what should I do?? You did tried to kill me" (Suimei). "
No, never, I never did that! It was just a warning!" (Felmenia).... She didn't sound too convincing after using a magic golem with all out attack instructions and trying to burn him with her flames of truth; the strongest fire known in that world.
- After some teasing (which increased her panic
), Suimei had her sign a magical contract, and warned her that if she ignored the promise of secrecy they just made, she would die. As soon as she heard that; she was scared to her very core. He tried to assure her that the contract can't do anything to her as long as she kept her promise, but it looks like she believed that the contract held power over her life regardless of anything (again, she was totally frightened).
- A few days later the king called Felmenia to talk about the progress of the Brave. It looks like the girl (Mizuki) is more or less equal to Reiji when it comes to magic (Reiji beat all of the higher magicians on the magic guild). Due to curiousity, the king asked "what about Suimei", and then she turned pale and started sweating
The king noticed that it was odd, and started asking things in a way that she could not respond if she didn't want to (head shake or silence); and since the king is smart he realized that her silence to some quetion was a pretty clear answer.
The king then decided to summon Suimei due to what happened, but Felmenia tried to deny it, but since denying it in that circumnstance was the same as admitting it, the curse partially triggered, she fell on her knees with a great pain on her chest; the king realized that he better is careful with what he does from now on after she recovered.
- After summoning Suimei, it's implied that Suimei was aware that the king would find out even though Felmenia was sworn to secrecy
after explaining his circumnstances he teared up the magic contract as a sign of faith (all of this while Felmenia looked in terror
she probably thought that she was gonna get torn up as well).
- As punishment for "violating his direct orders", the king gave Felmenia 2 orders, one is to stop working as a court magician, and the second wasn't disclosed to the reader. It's pretty obvious that "the punishment" was an incredibly important mission rather than a penitence.
It's hinted that the fear that Felmenia went through was so great that partially reshaped her peronality. Before that she had experience no seat backs in life due to her diligence and natural talent. I'm guessing that she is gonna learn to control her inner pride, which is actually something that she needed.
