His two best friend's are a chick magnet bishonen (Kazehaya) and a pervert Otaku (Ken). The reason he debunks attraction and rescue romance is that he believes they just confuse the relief of being saved for attraction to their rescuer. Unfortunately, it makes him look like an ass when he says it every time in the most flat voice ever.
The fact that he helped save an Idol singer at one point looks horrible with his responses.
