I heard that the anime was discontinued after 37 episodes, which is a shame...
Very clever use of imagery and sight gags galore in the first few episodes, but the quality does degrade after the first half-dozen episodes... but a pretty decent job overall.

Manga ending:
Spoiler:
One of Masato's and his adopted sister's childhood friend comes back to Japan after being out of the country training to be a soccer star. The three reunite, having a good time. The childhood friend falls in love with Miyuki, the adopted sister. Masato is unsure how he feels about this. He's getting closer to his classmate Miyuki, but he has feelings for his adopted sister. In time, the soccer friend proposes marriage to the adopted sister. Masato initially is ok with this, because the soccer friend is a great guy. He also does not want the adopted sister to know that she has no blood relatives in the world, so that's one reason he doesn't want her to know that he has feelings for her. The soccer friend, guessing that Masato has feelings for his adopted sister, schedules the wedding reception BEFORE the wedding. This gives Masato a last chance to act. I told you he was a great guy, right Anyway, at the wedding reception, as Masato is giving his congratulatory speech to his soccer friend and to his sister on their wedding, he confesses, with tears in his eyes, that he and his sister are not blood related, and he loves her, in front of everybody! Everybody is shocked, including both Miyukis. The one exception is the soccer friend. The scene pretty much ends there. Next we see that Masato and his adopted sister are on their honeymoon. The soccer friend is traveling around Japan, when he bumps into the classmate Miyuki. It's suggested that they become friends, but the manga ends there.
