This is because I found the person I planned to meet, just in front of me.

It was still a little before the appointed time, but she was already there.

She didn't notice me at first, letting out cold white breaths from time to time, but before long she became aware of my gaze.

"Good morning, Ayanokouji-kun"

As I approached, I heard her morning greeting.

"Good morning. Sorry it's so early in the morning."

"That's okay. So, what did you want to talk to me about? Something hard to say over the phone?"

Even though she looked at me with doubt but the sharpness she had when we first met was gone.

Her gaze has a softness, an expression of natural friendship that is not hidden.

"When we talk it's mostly about special exams or class related. But sometimes I want us to talk about stuff that has nothing to do with that, just for a little while"

"Huh? I'm sorry, I didn't quite understand that. What do you mean?"

I tried to put it into words but upon reflection my expression was clumsier than I could even imagine.

A more blunt statement came to mind but depending on how it was received I judged it would make things embarrassing.

"I just wanted to have a meaningless conversation with Horikita, unrelated to other interests. Do you understand now?"
