Hmm, do you mean the letter "L" in lower-case, or the symbol "|"? (the key below the backspace button on the keyboard) Though I tested both on my image above using the edit and preview changes options, but the thumbnail link was broken.
Either way I see the "large thumbnail" option you said on the imgur website, so thanks.
