Barraging is explicitly the one move she's displayed which does NOT inflict Instant Death.
Barraging is for when she's not confident of scoring one successful hit, and so tries to kill through regular damage with as many strikes as possible.

If a move only hurts someone, it's not One-Hit-Kill. Piercing carries the property of One-Hit-Kill, so it's also used to KILL opponents, not just hurt them.
