When a star falls, it signifies the death of a contractor. When a star fades, the contractor goes into regression (e.g. Havoc from S1). Regressors temporarily lose their powers. In S1, Havoc tried to regain it by going near the gate but she ended up being too scared and failed
and died soon after.
