Paralysis, Dweomer runes were also useful. And in the expansion... Momentum and those critical/backstab damage runes helped as well.
But that was only if you were a DW-rogue/warrior, since the number of hits you can do in a minute exceeded what other classes could do, giving more chances for the runes' effects to activate.
