Heck, it'll be virtually impossible to use
any man-powered entrenching tool to do so. Nevertheless, our choices are to believe they were conveniently there beforehand (but why?), or they somehow dug it out themselves (maybe the time gap was longer than implied? At least it is not much more impossible than the idea of them managing to beautifully conceal the StuG under snow in what seemed to be less than a minute...)
Or maybe they went in and dug those positions
before the 72-hours shutout period...
