Amuro and Date were best friends in the Police Academy. There is not much else known about Amuro and Date.
Fake Akai is a disguise, NOT a set person. The theory is that the first Fake Akai (all the ones before the Mystery Train case) is Boubon gathering information. The second is, of course, Vermouth. Read the previous posts in this thread.
Vermouth constantly calls Conan the second "Silver Bullet" (Akai Shuuichi is the first). A theory is that she secretly wants Conan to stop the Black Organization. Silver Bullet is, of course, an object that destroys evil.
Vermouth seems really interested in not only Conan (Kudo Shinichi) but also Mouri Ran. As Sharon Vineyard, Vermouth used the quote, "No angel has smiled upon me, not even once." But she started calling Ran "Angel" after Ran saved her in New York. The weakness that Vermouth has that Yukiko talked about is probably Conan and Ran. Remember, she even ordered Calvados in the Ghost Ship arc not to kill Ran.
