Knowing our luck, she'll turn out to be some girl playing heroine and be a one shot character. As for the spoilers, I suppose the only way Cure Ace could still be Regina or Marie is if "Ace" is a manifestation of them. The type that can interact with its originator.

Still this sort of begs the question. If Cure Ace is really not Regina or Marie then who is she? Is she some other warrior of the Trump Kingdom like Cure Sword is? Or will she be a resident of Earth that gained the powers like Cure Heart?

There's also the question of the timing of her appearance. If her appearance isn't tried to Regina's redemption or Marie's rescue then what kept her from joining the others on their quest. Or if not joining them taking matters into her own hands?

I think even if Regina isn't Cure Ace and in fact never becomes any type of Cure, there is still stuff they can do with her. This is of course assuming they allow to be a character. My main fear waiting episode 21+ is this.

That Regina will be "brainwashed" and turned into one of those characters that spends a majority of the series as a puppet. Thus effectively no longer being a character. I suppose they could alternatively go with the angle of "Obligation to her father" and thus have her conflicted between that and how she feels about Mana.

Likewise, a fear I had in regards to Marie Ange is that each time they'd get close to rescuing her that the princess would be in another castle. That by the time they truly saved her the series would be over. Thus making her more of a goal than a character.

One thing for sure is this. If Cure Ace is someone else and those spoilers aren't misleading then it means they pulled a reversal on us. It was thought that the build up with Regina or the rescuing of Marie would lead to Cure Ace appearing in the end.

It looks more like we'll be meeting Cure Ace first and that meeting her will lead to development of her as a character and whoever she might be in the long run. Ie we meet the Cure then the Civilian.

Still there's got to be a way they can still have Regina and Marie be Cures. I won't give up hope. Especially in Regina's case. Although I am now going to be "dreading" each episode partially because I'll feel kind of cheated.

Still who knows? Maybe Cure Ace will as a whole turn out to be some awesome character and she'll have the type of personality that couldn't have worked if she was someone we already knew. I'll just have to wait and see.
